AACT Special Grant to Support Youth Financial Literacy

The Trust has recently awarded a special grant of $3,200 to Aorere College for a Year 10 Financial Literacy programme.  The programme will include a week of activities planned to support over 300 students with their knowledge and confidence around income, spending and budgeting.

The programme has been developed with support by the Commission for Financial Literacy and Income, and will feature lessons from ASB Bank about savings and budgeting.

The Trust's funding will help Aorere College to incoporate an online resources called Bamzonia.  This resource includes interactive quizzes and games that teach young people about the economy, investments, personal financial goal-setting, Kiwisaver, credit, debt and much more.

We're excited to hear how the programme goes and what the young people gained from the opportunities to take part.
